The ongoing investigation against Malayalam superstar Dileep for allegedly conspiring the abduction and alleged sexual assault of a popular actress takes a new twist.According to a report in Malayalam Manorama, a distant relative of the actor was his first wife and the wedding was officially recorded at the registrar office in Desam, Aluva, Dileep's hometown.
The investigation has revealed, before his marriage to Manju in 1988, Dileep was married to a distant relative. According to the reports Dileep this woman much before he made his film debut in the 1990s. He later got close to Manju and as soon as relatives of the actor got to know of his affairs. Dileep shot to superstardom after his wedding to Manju Warrier.

The couple then parted ways. However, the police suspect Dileep didn't officially separate from this woman. She moved to the gulf later. The police try to contact witnesses when the two got married. Dileep has a daughter with Manju and got divorced in 2015 and married another popular actor Kavya Madhavan in 2016.
According to the reports, Manju Warrier's brother Madhu Warrier was interrogated by the Kerala police in the abduction case. Madhu was asked about Dileep's character and his marriage to Manju Warrier.
Dileep was arrested last month in connection with the Malayalam actress abduction case and has been lodged at the Aluva-Sub Jail under the judicial remand.
