For the first time, Sonam Kapoor will share screen space with her father Anil Kapoor in Shelly Chopra Dhar’s unexpected romance Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. While the audience is waiting with a bated breath to see the father-daughter duo on the silver screen, a new song from their film titled 'Ishq Mitha' has added to the excitement.

The song is a Punjabi wedding song, a reprised version of the 90’s iconic song of the same name. The original song features Malaika Arora and Jas Arora and is a top favourite amongst the Punjabi weddings. Sung by Harshdeep Kaur and Navraj Hans, the song features Anil and Sonam burning the dance floor at a sangeet ceremony. High on energy and unmissable chemistry of Sonam and Anil, the song has all the potential to top the music charts in the upcoming wedding season.

The track of the film hints at Sonam playing the role of a homosexual in the movie. If reports are to be believed, South Indian actor Regina Cassandra will play Sonam’s love interest. In the film, Sonam shares the screen space with father Anil Kapoor for the first time. They play a father-daughter duo with Anil’s character looking for a groom for his daughter. He is disappointed when he is faced with the reality that his daughter is in love with a woman.

In an earlier interview, Sonam had said, "I never found authenticity or idealism in any of the other films. I felt nobody besides me and my father (were apt) to do Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. We are glad to know that we were the first choice of the director". The film derives its title from the hit song in Anil Kapoor’s 1994 film 1942: A Love Story. The film, set to release on February 1.
