Everything that 'Firangi' adorns is robbed from someone, says Aamir Khan

New Delhi:

The teaser of Aamir Khan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan was recently bomb shelled on the audiences and ever since then, the fans could not stop talking about the most-anticipated film. Be it Katrina Kaif’s Surraiya begum charm, or Amitabh Bachchan's vintage look, it has made rounds on the internet sensation. However, what garnered the maximum head turns and eyeballs is Aamir Khan’s pirate-ish avatar. While the film is expecting to take the box-office by a storm, costume designers Rushi and Manoshi reveal that Bollywood perfectionist Aamir’s character, Firangi, in the film is stolen from the people he meets during the course of the film.

Rushi exclaimed that the look of Aamir is a potpourri of different elements and identities stolen from the myriad people he meets.

"He loves his name and lives up to it with his top hat and his choice of foreign booze, which also are incidentally stolen from people. He wears an English leather tail coat in a jade colour, the colour of a chameleon," said the costume designer.

Manoshi too exclaimed that Firangi is like a magpie who loves collecting things that shine to his eyes. He wears a chatelaine belt which he uses to hang his favourite glinting belongings. His attire includes a rose-tinted sun-glass, an ornate leather canteen of water, a mismatched pair of boots and a ‘potli’ full of tricks. The designers try to warn everyone of this charmer, the Firangi Mallah.

Aamir, being his perfectionist self, got minutely involved in the research and design. The actor said in a statement, “For Firangi, what we figured is that other than the dhoti that he wears, everything else is robbed from someone. Whether it's his hat, sunglasses, shoes, jacket, everything has been flicked."

The Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial venture, Thugs Of Hindostan, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh is slated to hit the theatres on November 8. The movie will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
