What is so festive about a festival without the booms and the bangs of music, especially a festival like Ganesh Chaturthi?  From the Megastar Amitabh Bachchan to the dance god Hrithik Roshan to the romantic hero, Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood has produced music to each beat of the festival.

Ganesha Chaturthi as the name suggests, is dedicated to the Lord of new beginnings, Ganesha. Followers of the god, hence mark the auspicious day by installing deity idols at homes and at elaborate pandals. On this festival, the market blooms with the spirit of lord Ganesh and you will see the idols of it being sold everywhere.

But, this joyous festival will just be another long parade of idol-buying, installing and submerging without having the pompous music to make up for it.  These are some of the top five songs that deserve a whole new playlist for a festival that marks new beginnings:

Gajanana is definitely the devotional song for the devotional heart.
