Sunaina Roshan, sister of Hrithik Roshan, recently came into limelight after she revealed that her family was not accepting her boyfriend Ruhail Amin, because he was a Muslim. She also levelled allegations against her father Rakesh Roshan of having slapped her and calling her boyfriend a terrorist. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Hrithik Roshan broke his silence over the matter and said that it is an 'internal, private and sensitive matter'.
"This is an internal, private and sensitive matter for me and my family. In didi’s current state, it would not be correct of me to speak about her. It is an unfortunate situation that probably many families are going through and are as helpless as we are, owing to stigmas and an incredibly weak medical infrastructure in this country for such cases,'' Hrithik said.
He further added, ''Religion is not even a thing in my family. It has never been discussed or been given importance whatsoever in my entire life. And I would like to believe that it is obvious to the world by now."
Recently, there were reports suggesting that Ruhail is married and the Roshan family is worried that he is not acknowledging Sunaina. A Bollywoodhungama report quoted a close friend of the Roshan family as saying, ''This chap whom Sunaina is seeing is apparently married and has children. That’s why Guddu and Pinky (Rakesh Roshan and his wife) are going nuts. Sunaina has already made monstrous marital mistakes. Her parents don’t want her to end up making one more wrong choice of partner.''
Earlier speaking to News 18, Ruhail had said, "Labeling someone extremist just because he/she belongs to a certain religion is simply outrageous and needs to be condemned in strongest words."Sunaina and Ruhail met when he was covering entertainment for a news channel. "We lost touch and reconnected through social media," he had said.
In an interview to Pinkvilla, Sunaina had revealed she met Ruhail last year. "I was in love with a Muslim guy, my father slapped me and told me that the guy I loved was a terrorist, which Ruhail isn’t. If he was one, would he go scot-free and work in the media? Wouldn’t he have been behind bars? I met Ruhail through Facebook last year but I hadn’t saved his number as I didn’t want my parents to know. I shifted out of Palazzo apartments in Juhu, where my parents stay and started living in a hotel apartment but came back to my parent’s home last week. I got in touch with him through his office."
