Anushka Sharma was last seen in the 2018 released film, Zero which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. While the film failed to do wonders at the box-office, Anushka was praised for her role of a wheelchair-bound NASA scientist. However, post Zero, Anushka hasn't signed any film and this has given fuel to the rumours of her being pregnant.
Breaking her silence on such rumours, Anushka said that people start assuming an actress' pregnancy once she gets married. In an interview with Filmfare, the actress said, "Yeah. If you're married then people ask, Is she pregnant? They love to read into something when there really isn't anything."
Anushka said that people should allow celebrities to live their life freely. She said, "An actress gets married and the next thing they talk about it is, is she pregnant? When she’s dating it’s like, Shaadi karne wale hai ki nahi? It’s crude. You should allow people to live their life. What’s the need to jump the gun? Then put someone in a position where they end up clarifying unnecessarily. What irks me is the clarification part. Do I need to clarify? Nahi! But then that’s how it is."
"Any actress, who gets married... sabke baare mein they’ve said something. Someone could be wearing clothes that are loose. That’s because they’re trendy. But they’re said to be pregnant. It’s like a monkey on your back. You can’t do anything about it. You just ignore it,’’ the Zero actress added.
Anushka was previously in UK with Virat Kohli, during the World Cup 2019. After India lost to New Zealand in semi-finals of the championship, the couple stayed in UK and spent some quality time with each other before returning to India.
