Priya Prakash Varrier's Sridevi Bungalow recently got itself embroiled in a mush of controversies after allegations were made that the movie was based on the late actor, Sri Devi. Questions about the movie arose when the teaser showed Priya in a bathtub, an incident reminiscent of the actress' death in a bathtub. This crude similarity had not gone unnoticed by people who were quick to point out indications about the late actor making husband, Boney Kapoor to even file a legal notice against the filmmakers.
While the wound of Sri Devi’s sudden death still sits raw and painful, this particular incident in a media interaction when Janhvi Kapoor was asked to comment on Sridevi Bungalow at an award show held on Thursday was painful to look at, given the fact that the questions raised were about her late mother.
The video shows Janhvi being asked about the upcoming, controversial movie, Sridevi Bungalow to which a hand, likely her manager can be seen objecting to the distasteful question. We see the Dhadak actor not giving a reply, though, she seemed visibly shaken and was led out quietly from the media interaction.

While the framework of the film is still debated, filmmaker Mambully and actress Priya have, however, refused to accept or deny whether her film is based on the life of late super-star, Sridevi. Priya's father, Prakash, has also refused to comment on the legal notice, saying it was for the director and producers of the film to address.
