Janhvi Kapoor, who made her big Bollywood debut under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Production opposite Ishaan Khattar in Dhadak, has signed another film with Karan. The young rising star will be seen portraying the role of the brave pilot Gunjan Saxena in a biopic drama on the pilot. Sources suggest that the South sweetheart Dulquer Salmaan has also signed the film, who will play the male protagonist.
According to a report published in Bollywood Hungama, Dharma Productions has signed Janhvi for the upcoming biopic on Gunjan Saxena. The Karwaan star will be seen romancing the rising actor. While the story will mainly focus on Janhvi, Dulquer will be seen essaying an important part.
As per the sources, the Dhadak star would soon start prepping how to fly a helicopter for the film. Speaking about the Gunjun Saxena biopic, a source close to the movie revealed to Bollywood Hungama, “Karan Johar thinks Janhvi has the right posture and attitude to play Gunjan Saxena. No, Janhvi won’t actually fly a helicopter in the film. But she is going to learn how the helicopter works so she looks comfortable inside a helicopter.”
While Janhvi has a special south Indian connection as her mom Sridevi has been a South superstar too, Dulquer has garnered a huge fan base in Bollywood. It would be interesting to see the on-screen chemistry of these superstars!
Earlier, rumour mills had churned that Janhvi was supposed to make her Bollywood debut with Dulquer, but she ultimately made her mark with co-star Ishaan with Dhadak.
Janhvi Kapoor will also be seen in Karan Johar directed movie, Takht and will be seen alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor, among others. The big-budget multi-starrer epic saga is slated for a 2020 release.
