Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao’s latest film, Judgementall Hai Kya hit the screens on July 26 and opened to positive reviews. On the opening day, the film’s box-office collection stood at Rs 5 crore and made Rs 8.02 crore on its second day, bringing its total collection to Rs 13.42 crore.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the collections report. He wrote, "#BoxofficeSummary - #Saturday: And biz shoots up again... #JudgementallHaiKya jumps on Day 2, national multiplexes record significant growth... Children/families are back to enhance biz of #TheLionKing. Big jump... #Super30 back in form. Packs a good total. India biz."

The official Twitter handle of Balaji Motion pictures also shared the collections, "We're grateful for all the crazy love coming in for us! Don't miss watching #JudgeMentallHaiKya in theatres, book your tickets now!’’

Judgementall Hai Kya’s first day collection is lower than Kangana’s last film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which made Rs 8.75 crore on its first Friday. For Rajkummar, the film’s opening was higher than his last film, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, which had opened at just Rs 3 crore.

The film was previously titled Mental Hai Kya, but underwent a last-minute change after controversy surrounding its depiction of mental health.

When asked about Judgementall Hai Kya at an event, Rajkummar said, "It’s an amazing script as it is a very quirky and different comedy. Kangana is such a powerhouse performer and we are coming together after Queen along with Ekta Kapoor (producer) so it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Apart from Ranaut and Rao, the film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Amyra Dastur. The film, directed by Prakash Kovelamudi and produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, released on July 26 with some minor changes, as suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
