It came as a sweet surprise when it was announced that Varun Dhawan and Katrina Kaif will be coming together for Remo D’Souza’s untitled dance film. Touted to be the biggest dance film of 2018, fans have been eagerly waiting for more details. However, the latest update will leave many Katrina’s fans disappointed. Kat has opted out of the film, reason being, the gruelling and hectic schedule of Ali Abbas Zafar’s next film, Bharat.
Katrina’s official spokesperson revealed, "Katrina Kaif had to opt out of Remo D'Souza's upcoming dance film owing to her hectic schedule for Bharat. Katrina has always been a thorough professional. She decided to step out of the film as her dates were clashing with Bharat, which she is currently shooting for." Producer Bhushan Kumar also confirmed the same to Hindustan Times.
He said, “Katrina has walked out of the film, and it was a mutual decision. She is shooting for my film only with Salman bhai, and that’s going a little ahead. We are having a date clash, that’s why we unfortunately had to do it, even though we really wanted her (in the dance film).â€
However, Varun is still a part of the project. Kumar said, “Yes, definitely, he’s there, we are starting (the shoot) on January 22, as per the schedule. We will soon be announcing the cast, we have shortlisted two-three A-listers for the new girl.’’

Meanwhile, Katrina was not the first choice for Bharat as Priyanka Chopra was cast opposite Salman Khan. But she backed out of the project due to her wedding nuptials with Nick Jonas. Priyanka’s role was then offered to Katrina.Bharat is slated for an Eid 2019 release.
