Yesteryear actress Krishna Kumari breather her last on Wednesday after suffering from prolonged illness. The actress was 85 years old and was battling with bone marrow cancer. Krishna had been undergoing chemotherapy for the last two years for the same.
She has been survived by her daughter.
Talking about Krishna's journey in showbiz, the actress had worked in over 200 films in her career of over two decades, which include Tamil, Kannada and Telugu movies.
She had made her debut with 1951 release Telugu movie Navvithe Navaratnalu and shared the screen space with legendary actors like NT Rama Rao, Sivaji Ganesan, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Krishnam Raju etc.
The actress is remembered for her work in movies like Bandipotu, Vagdhanam, Bharya Bhartalu, Chikkadu Dorakadu and Pelli Kanuka.
Krishna was also conferred with the President’s Award for her work. She chose to quit her showbiz career post-wedding.
