Kangana Ranaut has finally launched the first poster of her upcoming movie 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' at grand event held at Varanasi Ghat on Thursday. The actress went all traditional for this 20-feet poster launch and performed Gangaa aarti with her team. This was not all. Kangana even took a dip of faith in the holy river before the poster launch.
Donning a golden saree, which she teamed with an orange brocade blouse and traditional jewellery, the 'Queen' actress also chanted "Har Har Mahadev" as she took five dips in the holy waters of the Ganges. For the poster launch the actress wore a Sabyasachi saree accessorized with Kundan jewellery.
The movie is based on the life of queen Laxmibai and will feature Kangana Ranaut playing the titular role. Indeed, the diva is quite excited to be a part of the movie. "I'm so blessed to be here. With the blessings of Lord Shiva, we have launched it here. After coming on board for this project, I feel like I've achieved something very big in my life. "I feel that Rani of Jhansi is very relatable for women like us. Life without respect was equivalent to death for her," the actress said to PTI.
Interestingly, Kangana has been putting up every single effort for the preparation of the movie and even went on to learn horse riding, sword fight and other warfare skills for her role. Helmed by Ketan Mehta, the script of 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' is penned by V Vijendra Prasad and is slated to release on April 28 next year.
