Rani Mukherjee is all set to don the brave cop look with Mardaani 2 and the fill has gone on the floors early this week.
Rani dressed in a crisp white shirt reminds us of her role as a journalist in No One Killed Jessica. Her look is proof enough that this time Shivani Shivaji Roy will be unstoppable.
Marking the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran who had penned Mardaani, the film is also reported to have got Chunkey Pandey's nephew Ahaan Panday on board as an assistant director.
Mardaani 2 is said to be on the similar lines of the prequel with Rani getting into a vicious battle with a 21-year old merciless villain. Rani will be seen beating down the villain who is involved in a heinous crime, is extremely clever and knows no mercy or empathy.
It's left to see what racket will Rani bust with this second instalment given how she took on the kingpin of the child trafficking racket in the previous one.
Rani Mukherjee while sharing her reaction on being a part of the sequel says, "Shivani will face a cold, merciless villain, who has no empathy, no fear of God and who is pure evil. The character has been written superbly and I’m excited to find out which actor will play the antagonist."
She also gives a sneak peek into the character of the chilling villain who she will have a big face off with. “Shivani will face a cold, merciless villain who has no empathy, no fear of God and is pure evil. The character has been written superbly and I’m excited to find out who the actor will be,” Rani adds.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, this will be Rani’s next release after the worldwide blockbuster Hichki that was hugely acclaimed by audiences and critics in India and worldwide alike and marked her return to acting post pregnancy. Mardaani 2 is slated to release later this year.
