Since the #MeToo movement has taken its roots in India, several noted personalities including Bollywood celebrities came under the wave. One of the shocking names which surfaced during the movement was ‘Sanskari Pitaji’ Alok Nath. The accusations was levied by a writer-producer Vinta Nanda after which the also actor filed a defamation case against her.
Ashu Nath, the wife of the Vivah actor, moved an application to a metropolitan court in Andheri, Mumbai, asking the police to investigate the allegations of rape levelled by Nanda. Earlier, a written complaint was submitted to the Amboli police station regarding the same.
Mumbai's Dindoshi Sessions Court on Friday rejected Alok Nath's wife's application for an injunction order against Vinta Nanda. The court says it can't pass an injunction order against her at this stage.
Nanda also took to Facebook to write an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention in the matter. Vinta wants the PM to provide all complainants with a space to be heard, and give them justice.
Following Vinta’s accusations, the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) had issued a notice to the veteran actor, seeking his stand on the rape allegations made against him.
