Deepika Padukone won a lot of adulation for her impressive performance in the 2015 released film, Piku, but did you know that she was not the first choice for the film. Yes, you read it right. Parineeti Chopra was offered the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter in the film, but the actor passed on the opportunity due to some confusion. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Parineeti Chopra revealed on a chat show hosted by Neha Dhupia that she regrets not being able to do the film.

"I didn't really turn down the film...there was a confusion. I was going to do another film at the same time and then that film also didn't happen, so it was my loss," Parineeti said.

Piku turned out to be a huge success at the box-office and it went on to touch the hearts of audience with its loving portrayal of a father-daughter relationship. The film also starred Irrfan Khan in a prominent role. Taking about the success of the film, Deepika had said in an interview, "I think we had all thought that it's a sweet film and that people will connect with it, but none of us had expected it to become this big. It's gone beyond our own control. The biggest compliment for me has been... I know it may sound funny, but a lot of people want to adopt me. Multiple people have told me that they want to adopt me after watching Piku, and that's very overwhelming.''

Meanwhile, Parineeti has a great line-up of films in her kitty. She will be next seen in Jabariya Jodi which also stars Sidharth Malhotra. The film is a comic take on the concept of 'groom kidnapping' prevalent in Bihar, popularly known as "pakadua vivah". She will also play ace shuttler Saina Nehwal in her upcoming biopic.
