New Delhi:

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas wedding at the Umaid Bhawan Palace has come with a lot of criticisms and bashings. After being called hypocrites for bursting fireworks at their Christian wedding, the duo has once again found themselves at the centre of yet another controversy. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India chapter on Monday has called out newlyweds, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas for using elephants and horses at their wedding procession.

The non-profit organisation for animals took to Twitter to blast the couple who tied the knot as per Hindu traditions on Sunday in Jodhpur.

"Dear @priyankachopra and @nickjonas. Elephants for weddings live and chains and horses are controlled with whips, spiked bits. People are rejecting elephant rides and having horse-free weddings. Congrats, but we regret it was not a happy day for animals," the animal rights organisation wrote on the microblogging site.

This co-incidentally collides with the central government's proposal to impose a ban on the use of animals in the circus.

To heighten the woes and the seriousness of animal cruelty, PETA India also shared its video from four years ago, titled, 'Captive Elephants in Jaipur: PETA India's 2014 Inspection'.

The couple, who left Jodhpur on Monday, is yet to respond to the remarks.
