Priyanka Chopra’s brother Siddharth Chopra was all set to tie the knot to Ishita Kumar by the end of April. In fact, when Priyanka was in Mumbai for a few days, it was speculated that the actress was here to attend Siddharth’s wedding. However, the actress went back to the US leaving everyone surprised. Earlier, Mumbai Mirror reported that the wedding was postponed as Ishita had to undergo an emergency surgery just days before the ceremony.
Ishita too had shared a few pictures from the hospital that indicated a surgery. Certain media house had also reported that the family was looking for a new muharat for the marriage. Now, putting all the speculations to rest, Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra has confirmed that both the families have mutually agreed to call-off the wedding. Madhu Chopra told Pinkvilla, "They (Siddharth and Ishita) have mutually called it off." However, she remain tight-lipped when asked about the reason for this sudden decision.
On Thursday, Ishita posted a picture of herself at a resto-bar with a cryptic caption, "Cheers to new beginnings. With a goodbye kiss to beautiful endings." Her mother, Nidhi Kumar, also commented on the picture saying, "Close old book and write new story" while father Anirudh stated, "We are with you; Feel the expanse of the universe and be the star you were born to be."
Moreover, pictures from Siddharth and Ishita's roka ceremony are missing from Ishita's Instagram handle. Ishita and Siddharth's roka ceremony took place on February 27 and Priyanka even took to Instagram to congratulate the couple.
