Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma will be awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for her path-breaking movies. The Sultan actress has been regarded as one of the few producers in the industry to break grounds through her films.
Anushka, along with her brother Karnesh Sharma, has produced movies belonging to different genres like NH-10, Phillauri and Pari.
The Jab Tak Hai Jaan actress became the youngest producer in B-town when she ventured into production with NH10 in 2015. The Navdeep Singh directorial which was released on March 13, 2015, emerged as one of the sleeper hits of the year.
According to a report in ANI, the Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation has decided to honour Anushka Sharma for contribution to the film-industry and experimenting with newer ideas as a producer.
On the work front, Anushka Sharma is currently busy with the shooting of two much-awaited films, Sui Dhaaga and Zero. Talking about Sui Dhaaga, the Sharat Katariya directorial which also stars Varun Dhawan will hit the silver screens on September 28.
The Bollywood Diva will also be part of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero, which is slated to release on December 21.
