Rana Daggubati won us over and over again as the villainous Bhallaladeva in the Bahubali series. Hence, when news surfaced that the Telugu star will feature in a film titled Haathi Mere Saathi, it was a delight to the Daggubati ‘s fans. The film is reported to be directed by Prabhu Solomon and will be released in the three major languages- Hindi Telugu and Tamil. Titled, Aranya in the Telugu version of Haathi Mere Saathi and Kaadan in the Tamil version. The film also features Pulkit Samrat, Vishnu Vishal, Zoya Hussain and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles. However, Kalki, who will also be seen in Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy opted out making us wonder which of the many actresses will take her place.
According to a source of Pinkvilla, Shriya Pilgaonkar will replace Kalki in Rana’s next. And if Pilgaonkar‘s role is confirmed, her new role opposite Rana Daggubatti will mark her debut in South Indian films.
Haathi Mere Saathi is reported to be a tribute to the 1971 classic film Haathi Mere Saathi starring Rajesh Khanna and Tanuja. Although news of the movie has been confirmed by the actor himself, nothing in terms of the script or content is believed to be similar.
The actor who is all excited for the shooting of his film took to Twitter to express his shoot for the movie that will focus on the bond between elephants and humans.

An animal drama, Haathi Mere Saathi also features other stars like Pulkit Samrat, Vishnu Vishal, and Zoya Hussein. The music of the film is being composed by Shantanu Moitra and sound designing is done by the Oscar-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty.
