Both Saif Ali Khan and Tabu are outstanding actors, Aren’t they? They were last seen together in Hum Saath Saath Hain and Biwi No 1. Both the films were released in 1999. Now after 20 years, the two are reuniting in the film Jawaani Jaaneman, which is Saif's first home production under the banner of Black Knight Films.
Saif is all excited to work with Tabu and while talking to a news portal, he expressed the same feeling. Welcoming Tabu on board, in a statement, Saif said, "Tabu is a brilliant actor. This part is funny on paper, and I'm pleased that she has agreed to play it as now it will be hysterical."
"Tabu is a close friend, so it wasn't difficult approaching her," producer Jay Shewakramani told the entertainment portal. "She was always the first choice for Saif, Nitin and me. Fortunately, she heard the narration and instantly said yes. It's too early at this stage to reveal her character; all I can say is that she has an extremely special role," he added.
According to the media reports, Tabu's addition in film came at last minute. Saif is co-producing ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ along with Pooja Entertainment and Northern Lights Films. The reports further indicate that Tabu will be having a special role in this coming-of-age film.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film will mark the acting debut of Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaia Furniturewalla. The debutant will be playing Saif’s daughter in the film. The shooting of the film will start next month with the first schedule taking off in London. On the other hand, Saif is playing the role of a 40-year-old guy who refuses to act his age.
Jawani Janeman is a coming-of-age story of a 40-year-old man and revolves around his relationship with his daughter.
On the work front, Tabu's last film Andhadhun garnered praises from critics and the audience alike. The film was a huge success at the box office. Tabu is also awaiting the release of her upcoming film De De Pyaar De with Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet.
