Salman Khan has been levelled of charges of allegedly threatening a Bigg Bos contestant in 2017. Zubair Khan an ex- house inmate has filed a private against Salman in 2017.

In October 2017, Zubair had said that Salman had threatened during the telecast. The grievance was also registered against Endemolshine India and Mumbai Viacom 18 Media Private Ltd, which, as per him, maligned his image on national television.

The 39-year-old producer, as per a Pune Mirror report, had contracted with Viacom 18 for Bigg Boss. He further alleged that he had provided requisite information to TV channel Colors, Endomolshine and Viacom 18 on the basis of which the aforementioned parties have fabricated things and showcase him as a goon for the sake of TRP.

Zubair also alleged that he ended up getting threats from underworld don Dawood Ibrahim on account of the negative publicity
The plaintiff had further claimed that the situation made him a victim of depression and caused him to take a larger dose of the prescribed pills, to the extent that he had to also be taken to a private hospital. As per his statement, he was admitted to a Lonavala medical facility by the involved authorities to cover up for the negligence on their part and that too, without a medico-legal case being registered by them in the first place. He was later dropped at his residence in a private car, as per his allegations.

A non-cognisable offence was registered against Salman and others by Lonavala Police later but to no avail. This caused Zubair to lodge a private complaint in the Vadgoan Maval court under IPC sections 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (2) (punishment for criminal intimidation). An 'issue process' order was passed by the court, in response to which Salman registered a revision petition in the sessions court.

According to Slaman Kan's advocate, In April 2019 Zubair Khan applied to withdraw the case filed in the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Vadgoan Maval, as he doesnot want to escalate the matter. The ccourt found that the application has been made voluntarile and also noticed that the sessions court has granted stay on the matter. There fore, the court disposed the complaint filed by Zubair and acquitted Salman.

The issue process order's execution was stayed until the final decision of the revision petition. Salman was absolved of his personal appearance before the trial court.
