The Delhi High Court today dismissed a plea seeking a stay on the release of Salman Khan starrer Bharat. The plea stated that it was "inappropriate" to name the film after the official name of the country. Bharat is slated to hit the screens on June 5. The plea said the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act prohibited the use of the name ''Bharat'' for any trade, business, profession, or in a title of any patent and in any trademark.

Soon after the Delhi High Court's verdict, Salman also took to his Twitter account to announce the official release date of the film. He wrote, ''Coming to a theatre near you in two days! #BharatWithFamily  @Bharat_TheFilm @aliabbaszafar @atulreellife @itsBhushanKumar #KatrinaKaif @bindasbhidu @WhoSunilGrover @nikhilnamit @reellifeprodn @SKFilmsOfficial @tseries.''

Recenty, in an interview with an entertainment website, Salman had said that Bharat was a complete package, and the nationalism makes it all the more special. "Isse badi aur inspiring film aur humari mitti se judi hui film, I don't think abhi kuch time tak aayegi... I don't think iss film se kisi ko kami ya disappointment mehsoos hogi," he said.

Bharat is said to be the journey of a man and a nation together and will see Salman Khan in five different avatars. The film also stars Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff among others, Bharat is an official remake of South Korean blockbuster Ode to My Father.

This is not the first time this year, the court or a third party has been asked to intervene in the release of a movie. Last month the Election Commission was invoked to defer the release of Vivek Oberoi starrer Prime Minister Narendra Modi biopic as it violated the mandates of the Election Commission.
