Here's another setback for fans of Shah Rukh Khan. The actor recently through an interview has let us know that he is taking his sweet time before signing his next project and meanwhile making the best of this long break by spending time with his family and now fresh reports suggest that there maybe no more films of the popular Don franchise.
An Asian Age report claims that producers Riteish Sidwani and Farhan Akhtar are not looking forward to start work on Don 3 anytime soon.
The report claimed a source told the publication, “These stories about this and the other actors taking over the Don baton are so out of line. Farhan Akhtar (also the director of the Don series) has no script, not even an idea for a plot to do another film. He’s busy with his acting and music career. He hasn’t directed any film for the last nine years. His last directorial was Don 2 in 2011. It looks like the Don series is dead.”
The report via a “close director-friend of Farhan” informed that he’s busy prepping for the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofan where hen plays the role of a boxer. That will keep him busy this year and most of 2020.
The source also infoprmed that Farhan is so busy with his acting career and upcoming films that he os finding no time to fit his old favourite direction in between. The actor has just wrapped up Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink that is due this October.
Shah Rukh stepped into the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan for a 2006 remake of the superstar’s 1978 hit Don. The film’s success prompted the makers to go for a sequel in 2011. A few months back speculations started doing rounds that Farhan is building his plot for Don 3.
When the daily contacted Farhan's partner Ritesh Sidhwani, he too maintained a silent stand.
