Sidharth Malhotra-Manoj Bajypayee starrer Aiyaary has been making waves ever since the trailer was released last year. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the thriller to see the two talented actors.
The Neeraj Pandey directorial was originally slated to be released on January 26 but was pushed further after makers of Padmaavat opted to release their film on January 25.
The much-awaited flick was then scheduled to hit the silver screens on February 9. Aiyaary was supposed to go neck to neck with Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan.
Grapevines were buzzing with the rumours that makers of Aiyaary were planning to postpone the release date again. Sidharth Malhotra had rubbished the rumours of the postponement of the film.
However, it seems the clash between PadMan and Aiyaary has been averted. The movie will now hit the theatres on February 16 due to an apparent delay in getting clearance from CBFC.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the new release date of the film.
It’s CONFIRMED... #Aiyaary shifted to 16 Feb 2018.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) February 5, 2018
Producer Jayantilal Gada while talking to PTI said that the censor board has told them there are a few cuts in the film.
''We have not received a letter from the censor board regarding the cuts. In such a short span of time, it was not possible for us to do the cuts and release the film in the overseas market on February 9. So we have now decided to come on February 16'', Gada told PTI.
