Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Bollywood’s newbie Sara Ali Khan has been ruling the news since its inception. The Rohit Shetty directorial is garnering rave reviews and fan appreciation since it hit the screens. While Ranveer Singh is the energy ball and Rohit is the action king, it made the movie a big masala adventure to watch.
With half a dozen releases, the month of December proved to be quite profitable for Bollywood. Turning true to expectations of trade analysts, Ranveer Singh starrer-Simmba raked in moolah. Simmba, also starring Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood, Siddharth Jadhav and Ashutosh Rana, is expected to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. As the rest of the releases of the month failed to leave an impact on the audience, Simmba, with its pitch-perfect performances is on its way to being the last Rs 100 crore earner of the year. With New Year around the corner, Simmba is expected to set the cash registers ringing.
Simmba, opened with Rs 20.72 crore on the box office Day 1 making it the grandest opening of Ranveer Singh’s career. The film witnessed a boost and the collection escalated to Rs 25 crore on Day 2. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had earlier tweeted, “#Simmba gathered momentum during the course of the day, with evening/night shows supporting the film… Mumbai circuit is rocking… Emerges Ranveer Singh’s biggest opening day… Day 2 performing better than Day 1… Fri ₹ 20.72 cr. 2018 has proven to be a ladder in Ranveer Singh’s career. Two biggest grossing movies of the year Padmaavat and Simmba have not only earned critical accolade for the actor but also won him more fans with his stellar performance in both films.
Simmba is Ranveer’s first venture with Rohit Shetty, while his newlywed wife Deepika was earlier seen in the director’s Chennai Express, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Pictures, Simmba features Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan in lead roles and Sonu Sood, Siddharth Jadhav and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The movie made it to the theatres on December 28.
