Sridevi Death: MEA denies foul play on sudden demise of actress, says 'anything suspicious would have come out by now'

New Delhi:

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday rejected the claims of foul play on the dramatic death of Bollywood actress Sridevi.

Talking about the same, Raveesh Kumar, the MEA spokesperson clarified that if there was anything suspicious, it would have come out by now.

"As far as I know, the paperwork from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government had been were handed over to us and on the basis of that the mortal remains were brought to India. Had there been something suspicious, it would have come out by now," Raveesh Kumar was quoted at a regular press briefing on Friday.

On February 24, legendary actress Sridevi breathed her last due to accidental drowning in bathtub after suffering a dizzying spell. According to forensic report, the diva lost her control under the influence of alcohol and fell into the bathtub.

She was attending her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding in Dubai along with husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor.

The Chandni actress was given a state funeral on February 28, with her body wrapped in the tricolour and a gun salute by the Mumbai Police.

The sudden demise of the actress has left the entire country into grave shock and fans are still finding it hard to get over the same.
