Sridevi cremated with state honours, hundreds pay last respects

Bollywood’s ‘Chandni’ Sridevi's condolence ceremony has come to an end in Mumbai's Celebrations Sports Club in Andheri West. Fans and Bollywood celebrities have gathered together at the venue to pay their last tributes to the actress. The first female superstar of the B-Town passed away on Saturday night because of accidental drowning in her hotel room’s bathtub after losing consciousness.

The last journey started at around 2 pm from the Celebration Sports Club and went till Pawan Hans, and the actress' mortal remains were cremated at the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium by her husband Boney Kapoor, along with the presence of many other faces from the industry.

The actress was in Dubai to attend the wedding of her nephew, Mohit Marwah. The sudden death of the ‘Hawa Hawaii’ of Bollywood has left everyone mourning, especially the Kapoor family.

The mortal remains of the veteran actress were brought to India in a private jet on Tuesday, almost after 73 hours of her passing away. An autopsy report issued by the Dubai authorities on Monday, after her death, raised several debates and controversies over her dramatic death.

Dubai Police’s internal process took 3 days to give a clarification on the death of the actress. Earlier, it was said that Sridevi passed away due to a major cardiac arrest.

The last rites of Bollywood’s ‘Chandni’ were performed on Wednesday. Condolences and last respects were scheduled from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Mumbai’s Celebration Sports ClubGarden No 5 in Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West.

Sridevi is survived by husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Jahnvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
