Sui Dhaaga: Made in India Box office collection, film's pastoral appeal is drawing the folk

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga: Made in India was released on Friday. Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, the movie was aimed at inspiring the countrymen to support the talent of one’s own country. The narration of self-reliance is drawing the flock to theatres to endure the pastoral appeal of the film. The film star cast added another feather to the cap. Despite the clash with Asia Cup 2018 finals, Sui Dhaaga: Made In India earned Rs 8.30 crore on its inaugural day.

Sharat Katariya directorial venture narrates the story of Mauji and Mamta, hailing from a small village who aspire to start their own business. Mauji works as a salesman in a shop that sells sewing machines but is often targeted as a subject of humiliation. Unable to tolerate husband’s sufferings, Mamta requests hi to start his own tailoring business. And there begins their journey of achieving their dreams together.

Sui Dhaaga: Made in India got a green signal from critics and audiences. The film earnings are expected to escalate further over the weekends, due to strong word of mouth. Gandhi Jayanti holiday will also contribute the share in the film’s profit.

Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli also fell in love with the film, especially Mamta. Anushka’s husband could not hold back his feeling of pride and lauded her on his social media account. He took to his twitter handle to appreciate the film and wrote, “What an emotional roller coaster with brilliant performances by the entire cast," he wrote.”  While he found Varun Dhawan's portrayal of Mauji "superb", it was Anushka's character Mamta who "stole (his) heart". "Her ability to be so quiet yet so powerful and impactful makes you fall in love with her," he wrote, adding that he was "so proud" of her.
