Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan tied the knot with interior designer and entrepreneur Sussanne Khan in the year 2000. After spending 14 long years together, the couple got divorced in 2014 and gave their fans a huge shock. They might have parted ways, but the former couple shares an amicable bond with each other and still are on good terms.
Recently, Sussanne Khan appeared on Neha Dhupia‘s show and talked about how she first met Hrithik Roshan and fell in love with him. Notably, she had gone to the USA to study design and met Hrithik when she returned to Mumbai.
Sussanne said, “That’s when I explored, studied, went to LA and came back when I met a superstar boy who was not a superstar at that time, but was one in my eyes when I met him. But before this I didn’t realize I didn’t have any interest in the film world. But destiny gets me back that way. I love the films and the industry, but I am so happy being where I am in my profession.”
On being asked why she never chose Bollywood as her career despite being the daughter of Sanjay Khan, Sussanne said she was bitten by the “design bug” early in her life. “Since I was 5, I was bitten by the bug of designing. It was all around me in my home. I used to have architectural digest magazines. My mum used to be an interior designer in those days. I was 5 years old when I used to go with her on sites and I fell in love with the world of color and design. I was obsessed with that world. I wanted to be a part of that world. Acting is equally a tough job but it didn’t attract me. There was no question of not going in designing.”
Importantly, Sussanne and Hrithik are also parents of two young boys and still spend time together as a family and go on vacations. Sussanne described her equation with the Agneepath actor post-divorce and said, “I have a support system in Hrithik. It’s not a marriage, but we are friends. That zone is so sacred to me, it doesn’t make me feel sad or lonely.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Hrithik Roshan is awaiting his next release Super 30. ‘Super 30’ after facing a lot of hiccups is slated to release on July 26 this year.
