Bollywood actress Tabu will not be replacing Vidya Balan in Kamala Das upcoming movie 'Aami'.
The movie is said to be a biopic on feminist poet Kamala Surayya aka Madhavikutty.
Earlier, Vidya was said to play the titular role in the movie. However, she walked early this month owing to her creative differences with the makers.
It was later reported that director Kamala Das is vouching to cast Tabu as the female lead.
“Tabu has shown a keen interest in the part and we’re in the process of finalising her. However, we wouldn’t like to say anything officially until everything is absolutely firmed in," a source reportedly told an entertainment portal.
However, Das cleared the air to a leading daily saying, "It's fake news. I never approached Tabu for the character."
Notably, Vidya's walk out from 'Aami' at the last minute has created a muddle for the makers as they have to look out for a new female lead soon.
It will be interesting to see who will play the role of Madhavikutty in her biopic.
Talking about Tabu's upcoming project, the diva will be seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Golmaal 4'. Interestingly, 'Haider' actress will be making a comeback to comedy genre after a gap of 17 years now.
