Tabu who had hands clapping with her conniving and menacing role as Simi in ‘Andhadhun’ alongside Ayushman Khurrana apparently wasn’t a favourite among the 'taken-to-heart', innocent children. Following her role as the villain, Tabu recently told Bollywood Life that the kids at the residential building are terrified of her after her impactful role as the villain.
“I’ve heard that after watching the film, some people fear me, so do the kids in my building,” Tabu told the entertainment website. While the ‘fear’ for the actor only goes to show how talented and powerful of an actor Tabu is, the actor despite the positive feedbacks from her adult movie buffs is equally concerned about the fear her villain role has impacted on her young movie-goers. “Well, yeah, but you don’t want people to be scared of you,” she added.
‘Andhadhun’ directed by Sriram Raghavan was hailed by many as one among the ground-breaking movies in the thriller genre and a breath of fresh air among the Bollywood tinsel down. The thriller movie is the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film in overseas markets by overseas gross ($48 million) and also stars Anil Dhawan, who played Simi’s husband Promod Sinha. Other stars to make the movie give an even greener light than it already is were the roles of Radhika Apte who essayed her on-point part as Akash’s girlfriend.
The Tabu- Ayushman Khurrana made over Rs 75 crore at the domestic box office despite opening to just Rs 2.70 crore on its opening day and also grossed Rs 303.36 crore in China, making it the third highest grossing Indian film in the Asian country.
