'Tubelight' second day collection: Salman-starrer earns Rs 42.32 Cr

New Delhi:

'Tubelight' which has already created much bigger buzz ahead of its release, has finally hit the screens on Friday and unlike every Salman Khan starrer the movie fails to get a monstrous start in the box office. Disapponting million of hearts the Kabir Khan venture has earned an average amount of Rs 42.32 Crore only after two days of its release.

Famous biz analyst Taran Adarsh on Sunday took to twitter to share the second day box office collection of the flick.
Being disappointed taran wrote, "#Tubelight Fri 21.15 cr, Sat 21.17 cr. Total: ₹ 42.32 cr. India biz".

Previously on Friday the analyst wrote, "#OneWordReview...#Tubelight: Disappointing.Solid star power [Salman Khan]. Stunning visuals. But #Tubelight is body beautiful, minus soul."

While, 'Tubelight', the war drama was expected to beat Salman's last release 'Sultan' by garnering a humongous collection, quite surprissingly it has failed to surpass the former.

Taran shared the first day collection of Salman's last five releases where 'Tubelight' had the least first day earning, while 'Sultan' topped the list.

Though, in terms of box office collection the movie has broken hearts of many, Dabang Khan once again managed to impress the audience with his ability to act natural.

The movie has received a mixed response from both the audience and critics along with an average occupancy on its day of release.

"Occupancy for today ranges anywhere from 35 per cent to even 75-80 per cent. One disadvantage the film is facing is that, it released in the last week of Ramzan, so the mass audience of Salman Khan is not coming to watch the film," PTI quoted trade analyst Akshaye Rathi.

"The response so far has been mixed but family audiences are coming in. A spike is expected on Monday as Eid is a big holiday," Rathi stated further.

Set against the backdrop of the India-China War of 1962, 'Tubelight' is a tale of two brothers and their unconditional love and faith in life.

After giving block buster hits like 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijan', Kabir Khan has reunited with Salman for the third time.

Also starring chinese actress Zhu Zhu, Sohail Khan, late actor Om Puri, child actor Matin Ray Tangu, 'Tubelight' is said to be Salman's Eid gift to his fans and followers.

On the work front, the blockbuster jodi of Salman and Kabir will also be next seen in their upcoming venture 'Tiger Zinda Hai'.
