Salman Khan starrer 'Tubelight' which is happened to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year, has earned Rs 64.77 crore in three days, but the film failed to cross the coveted '100 crore' mark at the boxoffice.
Helmed by Kabir Khan, 'Tubelight' minted Rs 21.15 crore on opening day, Rs 21.17 crore on Saturday and Rs 22.45 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release.
Breaking million of hearts, the flick has failed to shutter any box office record which is quite unusual for a Salman Khan starrer as all his recent releases like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Sultan' had earned 100 crore plus in the opening weekend.
While 'Sultan' made Rs 105.11 crore within first three days of its release, 'Bajrangi Bhaijan' bagged Rs 102.6 crore.
'Tubelight', which marks the third collaboration between Salman and Kabir after blockbusters like 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijan' got a moderate opening on Friday June 23.
While the 'SalmanKhan films' generally open with housefull shows, 'Tubelight' saw only 35 to 70 percent occupancy.
Produced by Salman and his mother Salma Khan under their banner SKF films, the movie also stars Sohail Khan, Om Puri, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, and child actor Matin Rey Tangu.
