Salman Khan is currently gearing up for his next big release Bharat along with Katrina Kaif. The film, an official adaptation of the 2014 Korean film Ode To My Father, is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Ever since its announcement, not much has been revealed about the film. However, if a latest report is to be believed, Varun Dhawan will be portraying a young Dhirubhai Ambani in the film.There were reports earlier of Varun doing a special appearance in the film and now it seems that all rumours stand true.

A source close to the project informed Bollywood Hungama, "Ali and team are keeping the details of Bharat under tight wraps. Though we all know that the film is a remake of the Korean flick Ode To My Father, the team has been pretty discreet about their given roles. But, yes Varun Dhawan who has joined the cast in a small role will be seen playing the younger version of a well-known Indian businessman."

The source further added, "Earlier it was unclear whether Varun’s cameo would be a song or a role, but now it is known that he will be seen playing the younger version of the late Dhirubhai Ambani in Bharat.”

The source also revealed details of Katrina’s character in the much-anticipated film. According to the source, the Katrina will essay the role of Salman's boss. This is Salman's third film with Ali Abbas Zafar after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. According to earlier reports, Salman Khan will be portraying five different looks in the film that spans almost 50 years. His character will be aged between 18 to 70 years. The actor recently revealed on The Kapil Sharma Show that his character doesn’t get married in the film until the age of 74. He is reportedly playing a circus artiste in the film.

Earlier, Priyanka Chopra was finalised for the role of Bharat’s leading lady but the actor opted out of the project to plan her wedding with American singer Nick Jonas.The film also stars Sunil Grover, Disha Patani and Nora Fatehi and is slated to release on June 5, 2019.
