In Bollywood, where people are at their diplomatic best, Sonam Kapoor is known for her unfiltered statements and clear opinions. In fact, her father Anil Kapoor once said, “There are times when we have to control her and tell her to think and talk (bolna padta hai soch samajhke baat kar).†And now it seems is the time when Anil Kapoor might feel the need to repeat the golden advice as Sonam recently reacted on Kangana’s statement accusing Queen director Vikas Bahl of sexual misconduct.Â
Right now, the actresses are deeply indulged into a war of words and it doesn’t seem to die down anytime soon.
Attending the Vogue We the Women summit in Bengaluru, the Neerja actor extended her support to Tanushree Dutta but swerved when asked about Kangana’s similar experience with Queen director Vikas Bahl.Â
"Kangana did. Kangana being Kangana Ranaut, she says a lot of stuff. Sometimes, it's hard to take her seriously, but I love the fact that she has spunk and she says what she believes in." Sonam said. Watch the video here:

Kangana Ranaut is the latest celebrity to speak out against sexual harassment, who said “Vikas Bahl would 'bury his face in (her) neck, hold (her) really tight" when they met sociallyâ€. Sonam, who has already branded Manikarnika actress, Kangana as a ‘troublemaker’ in a popular chat show, couldn't react to Ranaut's experience with the same empathy.
Steamed with Sonam’s comment on her, Kangana Ranaut, in an interview with Pinkvilla, blasted the Delhi-6 actress. Kangana, enraged with Sonam’s response launched a scathing attack on her for the judgemental comments and went on a rant insisting that Sonam has no business or right to judge her since she is known and is a celeb only because of her father Anil Kapoor. She further went on to say that Sonam is not a good actress or a good speaker, and as such doesn’t have the credibility to pass judgement on a celebrated actress like herself.
She said, “What does she mean by saying, ‘it’s hard to believe Kangana’? When I am sharing my Me Too story, who gives her a right to judge me? So, Sonam Kapoor has the license of trusting some women and some she won’t. What makes her so unsure of my claims? I am known to be an articulate person and I have represented my country in many international summits. I am called as a thought and youth influencer to these summits, I am not known because of my dad I have earned my place and credibility after struggling for a decade.
Kangana even went onto say that “She isn’t known to be a great actress, neither she has the reputation of being a good speaker. What gives these filmy people right to take digs at me? I will demolish each one of them.â€
With shots fired from both the sides, the actresses turned the #MeToo moment into their own personal vengeance.
