New Delhi:

Actor Vivek Oberoi recently attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday. The actor took to Twitter to congratulate the PM on this occasion, where he accidentally promoted Salman Khan’s upcoming movie Bharat. He captioned the picture saying, ''Honoured to be invited again to the swearing in ceremony. I’m watching @narendramodi bhai taking his oath for the 3rd time on his journey from CM Gujarat to PM of Bharat once again! Feeling like a small part of an incredible history #ModiSarkar2 #NamoAgain #ModiSwearingIn.''

While posting the picture, the actor used the hashtag of Salman Khan’s upcoming movie, Bharat. In the tweet that went out, the film’s Twitter emoji was also visible. As soon as the netizens noticed it, the actor deleted the message. He posted a fresh tweet without the #Bharat. Apart from Vivek, other Bollywood celebrities who attended the function on Thursday included Kangana Ranaut, Kapil Sharma, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput.

Earlier this month, Vivek was caught in a controversy for sharing a distasteful and crass meme on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's personal life. Oberoi, who reportedly dated Aishwarya in the early 2000s, had posted a meme featuring her with her husband Abhishek Bachchan, daughter Aaradhya and Salman Khan. Many of the celebs including Sonam K Ahuja took to Twitter and called the action on Vivek’s part distasteful.

The National Commission for Women (NCW), too issued a notice to the actor demanding explanation over his tweet on the exit polls. The actor later deleted the controversial tweet.Vivek had later apologised for the seemingly 'funny' remark on Twitter. ''Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever,'' Oberoi had said.

''Even if one woman is offended by my reply to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies. tweet deleted,'' he had added.
