2.0 box-office collection week 2: Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer crosses Rs 700 crore mark

Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0, without a doubt is one of the biggest movies ever made in Indian cinema because of its massive budget which is around Rs 550 crore. It doesn’t end here, the movie is also churning out big for its producers across the globe since its release. Now, as per some reports, the science fiction film has crossed Rs 700 crore mark in just two weeks beating Baahubali and Aamir Khan’s Dangal. The movie has also become the first ever Kollywood flick to achieve such box office collection worldwide. Even the Hindi version of the film has garnered Rs 177.75 crore in India, which is quite impressive.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh shared its second week box office collection on Twitter, ‘’Fri 5.85 cr, Sat 9.15 cr, Sun 12 cr, Mon 3.75 cr, Tue 2.95 cr, Wed 2.40 cr, Thu 1.90 cr. Total: ₹ 177.75 cr’’.

Another Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared the worldwide box office collection of 2.0 after week 2. Take a look at the worldwide collection in the second week after collecting Rs 526.86 crore in the first week:

Day 1 – Rs 27.31 crore

Day 2 – Rs 32.57 crore

Day 3 - Rs 36.45 crore

Day 4 - 39.20 crore

Day 5 - 17.13 crore

Day 6 - Rs 14.66 crore

Day 7 - 16.80 crore

Total – Rs 710.98 crore

It is also said that the sci-fi flick will be screen in over 100 screens in US even after two week which is an achievement in itself.

2.0 features Rajinikanth who will be seen reprising the role of doctor Vaseegaran and Chitti while Akshay Kumar will be making his South Indian cinema debut with an antagonist role.

Before the release of the film, the Madras high Court also issued an order to 37 internet service providers (ISPs) to block more than 12,000 websites which features pirated versions of Tamil movies. But, the movie was somehow leaked on TamilRockers just after few hours of its release.
