Alaya F, who made her Bollywood debut with Jawaani Jaaneman this Friday, has reportedly already bagged her second film. According to Filmfare’s report, a source has informed that Alaya will play one of the female leads in Student of the Year 3. The report further adds that the shooting of the film will begin in Bangkok this summer.
Karan Johar had already hinted about SOTY 3 while making an announcement for SOTY 2. He’d written on Twitter, “Am so excited and proud to handed the franchise to you!!! #soty2 coming your way soon!!! Shall we reveal our plans for #SOTY3 just now!!? Or actually let’s keep em guessing.” Even Varun Dhawan, who made his debut with the original, had said in one of his interviews, “People still call us ‘student’ and I don’t think that tag will go away from us and we never know in Student of The Year 3 we might go back to school.”
Alaya’s latest release, Jawaani Jaaneman has started off on a good note at the box office. Also featuring Tabu and Saif Ali Khan in pivotal roles, the film has collected Rs 3.24 crore on the opening day. Talking about bagging the role, Alaya had earlier said she was both nervous and excited about working on the film. "I could give my best only because I was surrounded by people who are the best. Every day was fun, I felt rewarded and content after the shoot. I am grateful I got to work with talented people," she had said.
Helmed by Nitin Kakar, Jawaani Jaaneman is the story of a single man who one day discovers he has a daughter and also meets the girl’s mother. His life changes completely with the entry of the two women. Farida Jalal plays Saif’s mother and Kumud Mishra essays the role of his father. Kubbra Sait will be seen as his friend in the movie.
