Long before Stree dominated the horror comedy genre, there was the Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa. After reports of making of sequel movies such as Student of the Year 2, ABCD 3, Sadak 2, Kick 2 among others, the sequel of the much-appreciated 2007 movie, Bhool Bhulaiyaa is also suggested to be en route. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the horror-comedy will get a part 2 soon as the producer of the first film, Bhushan Kumar has given a heads up for the sequel.
A source close to the development told the daily, "Bhushan wanted to make a part 2 of Bhool Bhulaiyaa for a while now and has cracked an idea with Farhad Samji, who will be writing and directing the film. It is in the development stage and will feature a fresh cast. Once the final script is locked, the team will kick off casting and other pre-production formalities."
According to reports, T-Series has registered the title Bhool Bhulaiyaa, a remake of the Tamil hit Chandramukhi starring Rajinikanth and will soon start working on the project. Farhad Samji, who will be directing the film, is currently busy with Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 4, a sequel to the previous Houseful franchise. His writing other works include the upcoming Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No 1, a remake of the David Dhawan, Govinda hit of the ’90s.
