Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Singh will be seen together as reel life couple in a film for the very first time in Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra. However seems like Sanjay Leela Bhansali has already sensed the spark between the two and made the two pose for a photoshoot around 15 years ago for Balika Vadhu, a film which njever saw the light of the day.
An old interview of Ranbir has surfaced in which the actor can be seen talking about how the two had come together for the project, is being shared online. Ranbir during a press event several years ago revealed, “Not many people know that Alia and me were actually going to debut together when Sanjay Ji was making a film called Balika Badhu. We had also done a photoshoot together and since then, I have been a fan of her. Also, when she worked with Imtiaz Alia in Highway, I loved her work. I remember I watched the film and told a friend that Alia is Amitabh Bachchan, she is doing such good work at such a young age. It was quite amazing. So I have been a fan of Alia Bhatt before she became an actor.”
Alia seated next to Ranbir was asked about her reaction to his claims.The actress blushing continuously confirmed the claims and said, “Yes, what he’s saying is correct. When I met Ranbir for the first time, I was 11-years-old. He was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali and I had to do a photoshoot with him. And I was so shy that I had to keep my head on his shoulder and I could not do it.”
Well, had this film of Bhansali took off, Alia would have made her debut at the age of 12 with her childhood crush Ranbir!
We hope much like Ranbir's crackling chemistry with his former leading ladies Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, his reel-partnership with Alia also does wonders on screen.
