New Delhi:

After giving back-to-back stupendous performances in Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho, Ayushmann Khurrana is eyeing to hit a hat-trick with his upcoming film, Article 15. Ever since the trailer of the film hit the internet, it has been receiving positive reviews for its thought-provoking and hard-hitting content. Trade analyst Girish Johar also feels that Article 15 will embark its box-office journey on a positive note.

"The trailer has been positively shocking and audience have taken notice of the movie. Early reviews are also been good. I think it should open decently well in the Rs 5 crore range. But if the expectations do not match, then it may be a little lower. If everyone is enjoying the evening and night show, it could increase to Rs 6-7 crore. It depends on the word of mouth," Johar said.

Girish Johar pegged the opening day box-office collection of the film at around Rs 5 crores. He also said that the film is likely to face stiff competition from Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh, which is running successfully in theatres.

''Yes, it will be affected to a certain extent as Kabir Singh is doing exceptionally well. Having said that, Article 15 is a film that will definitely grow with the help of word of mouth. So, in the long run, it’s the merit that will decide its fate,'' he said.

The film offers a realistic take on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution, which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. Also starring Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Article 15 is scheduled to be released on June 28.
