Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s second directorial; Panga has been earning positive reviews from critics and is picking up at the box office at a rapid pace. As Kangana re-instates shoot for her other releases of the year from Thalaivi to Dhakkad, her Panga filmmaker and confidante expressed an interest to healm the Padma Shri Award winning actress biopic.
In an interview with IANS "I have no issues in making a biopic on Kangana Ranaut, if she allows me to do so. But I think there are still many things to come her way. Let her get married and then I''ll think of making a biopic on her. After acting in ''Thalaivi'', even Kangana gave a thought about making a biopic on her.”
The actress who co-directed Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has in several occasions told the media that she will direct a biopic on herself.
Revealing what she you title her biopic Ishwiny said, "She was so excited that she wanted to direct her own biopic. Still, if I get a chance to make her biopic, I''ll make it for sure. Maybe with the title ''Kangana v/s Kangana''. She is a very straightforward person and tells everything truthfully," said Tiwari at an event to mark the success of "Panga" here on Thursday.
The filmmaker also shared a sneak-peek into the kind of relationship she shares with Kangana: "I respect Kangana Ranaut a lot as an actor. I feel that there is a humane side to her which she doesn''t want to show to anyone. The reason she doesn''t want to show her side, because I think if someone keeps bouncing what you said on phone or Twitter, what will you do? It''s like a call centre heckling you with phone calls after phone calls. Eventually what will you do? You would switch off your phone or you would shout back and I think that''s the whole issue.
Detailing about the whole credits controversy that rocked the release of Manikarnika, Ishwiny revealed she was shooting with Kangana and no one who accused her know what mental turmoil she went through. Explaining that she has a different equation with Kangana, Ishwiny said they bothe are unaffected by what the world thinks about them .
Earlier during the promotions of Panga, Kangana revealed how Ashwiny would pay no heed to adivices by industry insiders to not work with Kangana. On the contrary Kangana revealed Ashwiny would come and hug her, kiss her and make her feel as comfortable as possible. “I'm used to people being very threatened by me or my presence. I'm not used to directors kissing and hugging me. So, it was nice” added the actress.
Meanwhile, Panga has made Rs 21. 36 crore at the box office in one week.
