Ayushmann Khurrana first release of 2020, Subh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has been pushed to a few weeks forward. The movie is eyeing for a February 21 release, a week after the Valentine’s day to avert clash with Imtiaz Ali Aaj Kal.
Written and directed by director Hitesh Kewalya , the movie that deals with the taboo of homosexuality went on floors in September. The poster of the movie said it was up for a Valentine’s Day release but was pushed to March 13, but now will open on February 21, reported a newspaper daily.
Speaking about the film, Aanand L Rai who is co-producing the film with Bhushan Kumar revealed that since February is the month of love, the movie should allude to Valentine’s Day.
This means, Anurag Basu’s next starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur slated for February 21 release also co-produced by Bhushan Kumar will be moved to March 13.
“We are ready to give the audience an adventurous ride with both the films, Rai said Mumbai mirror.
Jeetendra Kumar most popularly known at Jeetu Bhai of TVF fame a known face in the streaming platform plays Ayushmann’s love interest in the film which is currently been shot in Varanasi. It reunited the National Award-winning Badhaai ho couple Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao.
According to producer Aanand L Rai of Colour Yellow Productions the success of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan encouraged them to turn it into a franchise which tackles taboo subjects in the most light-hearted manner.
Ayushmann meanwhile is having a dream run at the box office with the release of Bala that is inching closer to the 100 crore mark in the first week of its release.
