A weak before the release of Salman Khan's magnus opus movie, Bharat has sparked controversy. A PIL has been moved in Delhi High Court against the Salman Khan film seeking the change in its title.
According to the petitioner, the tile of the movie violates Section 3 emblems and names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act. The act states that the word Bharat cannot be used for commercial purposes.
The petitioner has also alleged that one of the dialogues in the film hurts the patriotic sentiments of the 'Bhartiya' (Indians) people and should be changed as it compares the lead character to the country India.
The dialogue in question is the one where Salman tells his name in an office chaired by Katrina. In case you are wondering which dialogue the petition is talking about, take a look at the trailer of the film.
While we await hearing on the petition, we wonder if the release for the movie will be postponed or the Delhi High Court will indeed move in favour of the petitioner and will there be a change in the title of the film at the last minute.
Bharat is said to be the journey of a man and a nation together and will see Salman Khan named after the movie in five different avatars.
Bharat stars Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff among others, Bharat is an official remake of South Korean blockbuster Ode to My Father.
This is not the first time this year, the court or a third party has been asked to intervene in the relaese of a movie. Last month the Election Commission was invoked to defer the release of Vivek Oberoi starrer Prime Minister Narendra Modi biopic as it violated the mandates of the Election Commission.
