Popular Bollywood actress Nimmi died on Tuesday evening at the age of 88. She took her last breath on March 25 at a private hospital in Santacruz. Trade analyst and film critic Komal Nahta took to Twitter to share the news.
''Yesteryear actress Nimmi ji passed away. She was 88. May her soul rest in peace'', he wrote.
Nawab Banoo aka Nimmi was born in 1933 and was known for her unique style of acting which also developed her a loyal fan base. She gave many hits in the 1950s and early 1960s and some of her commercial hit movies include Aam, Mere Mehboob, Akashdeep, Pooja ke Phool and more.
She is also one of the few actress who has worked with Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Geeta Bali, Madhubala, Meena Kumari and others.

Nimmi was married to Raza, who was a scriptwriter. He passed away in the year 2007.
