Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan today shared the teaser poster of their upcoming film, Coolie No. 1. The film will be directed by David Dhawan, who helmed the original 1995 film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. The official poster will be released tomorrow.
The teaser shows a glimpse of a coolie balancing numerous suitcases and bags. Sara’s voice can be heard in the poster saying, “Ae coolie!” and soon the iconic music of the track “Main Toh Raste Se” starts playing. “Get ready first look tomorrow #coolie #coolie #coolie,” Varun captioned the post on Instagram.
Sara also shared the video to her timeline and wrote a funny caption alongside it. She mentioned, "Paranthe ke saath moo-lie Entertainment mein ghuse ful-lie Kal mein nahi bhool-lie Laane aapkeliye the first look for coolie #sarakishayari (The humour in our film is better than mine, I promise." (sic)

Earlier in an interview, Varun Dhawan had said the film is not a remake but an adaptation of the original.
''Why I wanted to do this film is because when I watched Coolie No 1, I was so entertained. I had such a good time watching it. It is a family film. It is one of the funniest and most entertaining films I have ever watched. It has an amazing screenplay and starred brilliant actors. We are adapting it. It is not a remake,'' Varun told indianexpress.com.
Coolie No 1, produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, is all set to release on May 1, 2020.
