New Delhi:

Bollywood celebrities from the Bachchan family to Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Janata Curfew' initiative and came out in their balconies at 5 PM to cheer for the health workers who have been working relentlessly at hospitals taking care of patients suffering from Covid-19.

Aishwarya Rai. Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar and several other celebs shared videos of clapping and cheering with bells from their balconies expressing gratitude to the essential service providers of the country.

Akshay Kumar along with his neighbours Sajid Nadiadwala and Hrithik Roshan were out of their sea-facing bungalows making some cheering noise with plates and bells as people gathered to click pictures. "Taking a moment to appreciate those who do not have this luxury of staying at home & working tirelessly to keep us safe."

 

Amitabh Bachchan and his family were also on the terrace of their Jalsa residence to clap their heart out for the real fighters of the nation. "It 5pm March 22nd the entire nation came out & applauded NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS ! PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN - JAI HIND." said his post.

Here are the other celebs who took to their balconies to cheer for the healthcare 'heroes'. The country observed 14-hour Janata Curfew on Sunday, as appealed by the prime minister.

After the curfew ended, 75 cities entered into a lockdown mode to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak as train, metro and long-distance bus services were closed with only essential services allowed to operate in 80 districts and 13 states till March 31.
