Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha’s Dream Girl has entered the Rs 100 crore club on its second Monday. The film collected Rs 72.20 crore in its first week, Rs 25.45 crore in its second week and Rs 3.75 crore on its second Monday, taking its collection to Rs 101.4 crore.
Sharing the box office figures of the film, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ''#DreamGirl is 100 Not Out... Begins weekdays [of Week 2] on an excellent note... [Week 2] Fri 5.30 cr, Sat 9.10 cr, Sun 11.05 cr, Mon 3.75 cr. Total: 101.40 cr. #India biz.''
Ayushmann also shared the exciting news on Twitter and wrote, "#DreamGirl scores a century! Thank you for this love."
Earlier, Ayushmann's Badhaai Howent on to earn Rs 137 crore. Dream Girl is his second Rs 100 crore hit. ''The era of good content in here and audiences want to see the most disruptive, different content in every genre. I am glad that people are connecting with the kind of cinema that I am doing and it only motivates me to be braver with my film choices,'' Ayushmann earlier said about the film’s success.
In the film, Ayushmann essays the role of a young man who has a credible talent of imitating female voice and plays female characters in Ramleela. He gets a job in an adult hotline, but things go haywire when customers, both men and women, fall for his alter ego 'Pooja' and start searching for the face behind the sultry voice.
Praising Ayushmann for his performance, producer Ekta Kapoor recently said, ''Ayushmann Khurrana is a truly versatile actor who can pull off any role with elan and ease. We are thrilled with the responses coming in for ‘Dream Girl’ from across the globe.''
Directed by Raaj Shandilyaa, the film also stars Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Nidhi Bisht, Vijay Raaz and others.
