Dream Girl, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana in a quirky role, is continuing its dream run at the box-office. After opening at a bumper Rs 10.05 crore, the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer has collected Rs 72.20 crore in its first week. The film minted Rs 7.40 crore on Tuesday, Rs 6.75 crore on Wednesday and Rs 6.05 crore on Thursday, thus taking the total collection of Rs 72.20 crore.

Sharing the box office figures of the film, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ''#DreamGirl has a fabulous Week 1... Emerges #AyushmannKhurrana's highest Week 1 grosser... Fri 10.05 cr, Sat 16.42 cr, Sun 18.10 cr, Mon 7.43 cr, Tue 7.40 cr, Wed 6.75 cr, Thu 6.05 cr. Total: Rs 72.20 cr. #India biz. HIT.’’

Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan's The Zoya Factor has hit the theatres today. The Sonam Kapoor starrer might give a stiff competition to the Ayushmann Khurrana film. However, going by the past record of Ayushmann's films, Dream Girl is likely to do well despite the release of other films.

In the film, Ayushmann essays the role of a young man who has a credible talent of imitating female voice and plays female characters in Ramleela. He gets a job in an adult hotline, but things go haywire when customers, both men and women, fall for his alter ego 'Pooja' and start searching for the face behind the sultry voice.

Praising Ayushmann for his performance, producer Ekta Kapoor recently said, “Ayushmann Khurrana is a truly versatile actor who can pull off any role with elan and ease. We are thrilled with the responses coming in for ‘Dream Girl’ from across the globe.”

Directed by Raaj Shandilyaa, the film stars Nushrat Bharucha as the female lead along with Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Nidhi Bisht, Vijay Raaz and others.
