I don’t enjoy what comes as frills for actors — unnecessary attention: Kangana

New Delhi:

Kangana Ranaut never shied away to take about her struggles and her choices in personal life in public. From sharing instances of acting in an embarrassing role in a movie during her initial years in Bollywood or venting out her grudges over an actor for not supporting her in crucial times, the actress speaks up her mind unapologetically.

Recently during an interview with mid-day when she was asked what made her take acting as a profession she quipped that that driving forces are more spiritual than materialistic like fame or money. She even said that she is not fond of watching cinema. But when she does so, she takes it as a study and puts a lot of effort to it.

"I actually stumbled upon this profession, and my need to find myself was more spiritual, which is what I am exploring at this point. But even earlier, money, fame, and adulation were not the driving factors. You can tell from my choices. I am not on social media, and I have never been a film fan. Even today when I have to watch a film/series to study, or I am asked to, it takes a lot of effort.” said Kangana and quoted by the national daily.

She described 'unnecessary attention, dancing at weddings, fairness-cream endorsements' as frills for actors and they don't entice her in any way. "I want to able to evoke thoughts and ideas through my work. If a story is within me, I want to share it with the world, and live through them. It is spiritual in its nature."

After making quite a statement with her period drama Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, the 32-year-old actress is all set to star for Jayalalitha's biopic titles Thalaivi and Jaya. She has also become the highest paid actress of Bollywood by quoting a whopping Rs 24 crore signing amount for the ambitious project.

The queen actress will be next seen in Mental Hya Kya and Panga. The former movie starring Rajkummar Rao will release on May 24th.
